Chef Mike McPherson
Chef Mike McPherson came to me to see if I would be interested in setting up his marketing operation for his at-home fine dining experience. Other than the fact that it is being at home, fine dining being compelling, I decided to join because I was a fan of why he is in this business. He wanted to show that anybody could have access to fine dining in a comfortable environment. He uses organic and locally sourced ingredients, and he volunteers at the farms that he gets his ingredients from. To be successful online, you need to be someone whom others can relate to or be proud of supporting, and I feel like Chef Mike could end up being one of those people.

Chef Mike wanted a website where visitors could:
Reach out with any questions or reservations
House important documents that he may need to share
Show off his dishes and the process to cook or bake them
I eventually would like to add a section for a blog that I would comb through for future content. I plan on creating YouTube shorts / Instagram reels based on recipes he’d like to share or his cooking philosophy. Chef Mike is very community-based; he uses locally sourced organic ingredients, volunteers at the farms he gets his ingredients from, and he’s associated with non-profits in the area as well. This sense of community is all I needed to see for me to want to help him out. I feel like his story could shine a light on the importance of community. I would love to be the one to share his message.
Social Media
I created an Instagram account and started working on a content calendar for him using photos and videos that he would send to me. I posted on Mike’s social media at least three times a week whenever I received enough content to share, and I handled all interactions on social media. These posts included information on his dishes, the process of creating them, customer reviews, and photos from his dining events. I eventually would like to shoot videos showing the process and videos on content pulled from the blogs that Chef Mike is working on.
