Chef Mike McPherson
2024
Chef Mike McPherson reached out to me to help start his private at-home fine dining experience. We discussed branding, web design, and social media management for his business.
I created an Instagram and Facebook account and started working on a content calendar for him. Our schedules don’t align, so I was working with whatever work he could send me. I posted on Mike’s socials at least 3 times a week and handled all interactions on social media. These posts included information on his dishes, how he creates the dishes, reviews from customers, and photos from his dining events. This has taken place over 3 months. I plan on picking back up on this project in 2025.

In addition to handling Chef Mike’s social media, I created a website for him. This website was made to show off more of his cooking, a place to make reservations, and content that may not be on social media, like blogs or classes. Once we get back to work, I will set up a Google Ads Campaign to bring more online reservations. So far, we have had 10 Reservations within 3 months through the website, his goal was to have at least 1-2 reservations a month.
2025
I plan on helping with these dining events. I would show up to take photos, videos, and time lapses and speak with guests to see how they enjoyed the experience. A lot of the videos that I would like to make would be stylized videos of him cooking and maybe have Chef Mike explain what’s going on. Chef Mike also has an interesting philosophy on food that I feel would be an interesting blog series that could turn into a video essay series that he could work on to help promote his business. Being in Richmond, a foodies’ paradise, going viral for his instructional videos about food out here could lead to many opportunities for networking and catering.
