Digital Marketing & Strategy
About Me
My entrepreneurial spirit emerged at a young age through one of my favorite classes in elementary school economics. I enjoyed learning about supply and demand, customer psychology, and the process of creating a product from start to finish. One of my first ventures was selling snacks to classmates, which gave me a hands-on way to apply what I was learning and even fund my hobbies. One of those hobbies—thrifting—turned into another business. I bought and resold clothing for profit, and through managing social media pages, researching trends, and networking with other sellers, I discovered my passion for marketing.
Encouraged by my high school teachers, I attended Virginia Commonwealth University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing: Product and Brand Management. VCU’s downtown Richmond location was the perfect fit, surrounded by small businesses, artists, and entrepreneurs. I learned not only from my classes—covering graphic design with Adobe Creative Cloud, marketing analytics with SEO and Tableau, digital marketing with Google Ads and UX/UI design, international marketing, and integrated marketing communications—but also from observing how the city’s community shaped its businesses and advertising.
After graduating from VCU, I joined 5&1 Consulting Group, where I grew from sales into a lead digital strategist role. I worked directly with clients to develop proposals, design websites, create content calendars, and lead brainstorming sessions for digital campaigns. Our clients spanned diverse industries—from internet service providers to musicians and cleaning companies—which required flexibility and creativity. I collaborated closely with our design and copy teams to ensure campaigns were cohesive across platforms.
Later, I transitioned to Christopher Newport University as a Web Content Assistant in the Office of Communications and Public Relations. In this fast-paced role, I managed updates across the public website and faculty pages, working with departments including athletics, theater, student government, and the president’s office. I ensured all content was clear, accurate, and on-brand, even stepping up to cover supervisor responsibilities at one point. This role helped me see how I could combine my professional experience with freelance projects.
Looking ahead, I plan to grow my personal brand through bi-weekly blogs on music and entertainment, which will expand into YouTube and other creative content. Based in Richmond, I’m passionate about helping businesses and creators share their stories through digital marketing.
